What pink noise is

Pink noise has less energy in the high pitches than white noise, so it sounds fuller and less hissy. Steady rain and wind through leaves are close to pink noise, which is part of why they sound natural to us.

Choosing between the colors

White is the brightest and masks the most. Brown is the deepest and many find it the most restful. Pink sits between them and is a sensible first choice if you are not sure. Keep the level comfortable, particularly overnight.
